Cosa c'è a Torri: January - February 2010

Agricultural News

Due Asini is very happy to annonce that Adrien Legris has finally decided to join us in our agricultural projects as a full partner after helping us as a volunteer much of last year.
After a record olive harvest Due Asini is very busy with our existing projects and some new ones - once finalised we will let you know. If you happen to be nearby on January 23rd please join us at Campeggio for a bbq to celebrate the end of the olive season. See you there!

Guesthouse

After celebrating New Years Eve with a full house of friends, family and guests, the guest house is now closed for January and February for rooms maintenance and winter break.
We wish everyone a happy new year and hope to see you in Spring when we re-open on March 1st.

Courses

This Spring Torri Superiore is very excited to hold a series of courses based around the transition to a sustainable, post-oil future, titled "On the Journey for Transition - Skilling up for Powerdown".
The courses include working with animals, making felt, making beer at home, soap making, biodynamic gardening, making clay floors, introduction to making biochar and a 72 hour permaculture certificate course.
For more details read below under Events and check page "Current Activities"

Ciappa experiment

After a winter break the Ciappa experiment in post-petroleum living will restart in March with a work weekend the 13-14 when we will build a solar food dryer and put the finishing touches on the clay floor.
As usual there will be a bbq on Sunday at Campeggio - let Simon know if you can make it either day.

Agricultural Volunteer

The garden volunteer position helping Simon with the community garden project has been enlarged to include the projects of Due Asini such as the olives, the goats and the sheep.
We are looking now for full time volunteer for late spring and summer to help us with all these - if you are interested please contact the office (info[@]torri-superiore.org) or directly Simon - simonclissold[@]yahoo.com.
