About the Torri Superiore Cultural Association
The Torri Superiore Cultural Association was founded in 1989 with the aim of restoring and re-inhabiting the abandoned medieval village, of supporting the settlement of new residents, and to aid with the creation of an ecovillage and cultural centre that could be opened to the public.
The Association now has about 30 members, both resident and non-resident, and follows guiding principles of sustainability, cooperation, and solidarity. The Association does not take any declared ideological or political stand, and adopts a non-religious cultural policy.
The overall direction of the Association and ecovillage, including the ecotourism programmes, are decided by the General Assembly of Members, which meets twice a year (in April and November). The Council of Directors, a group of nine elected residents and non-residents, normally meets every two to three months.
