Torri Superiore is situated at 80 meters above sea level, at the foothill of the Ligurian Alps. The small valley is crossed by the beautiful Bevera River that flows from France and forms natural swimming pools where one can swim in the warm months. The local vegetation is evergreen, with Mediterranean shrubs, ancient olive trees, holly-oaks, lemons, oranges and mimosa (wattle).
The climate is mild throughout the year, with temperate winters and cool summers.
In the nearby village of Torri di Ventimiglia (250 inhabitants) one can find a restaurant, a small department store, a church, and the bus stop of the bus to and from Ventimiglia.

From Torri, beautiful excursions on foot are possible to the Grammondo Mountain, where one can find the Gerry Refuge (mt. 1300). The Sentiero Balcone (Balcony Trail) runs close and links Torri with Collabassa, Airole, Rocchetta Nervina and Villatella. Along the Bevera river, river-hiking is possible along its gorges and small waterfalls.
By car, Italian and French towns are easily reached like Dolceaqcua, Perinaldo, Baiardo in the Nervia Valley, Bordighera and Sanremo on the Riviera dei Fiori (Flowers Coast), Menton, Monaco and Nice on the Côte d’Azur. Also in France, direction north (Tende), the famous Valleè des Marveilles is situated at less than one hour drive from the ecovillage.

How to get there
By train: reach the Ventimiglia train station, come by taxi (available at the stations entrance) or with the bus number 6 of the local bus company Riviera Trasporti. The bus stop is on the main Ventimiglia road (Via Cavour), about 50 meters away from the train station (walk straight, turn right at the first traffic light, the bus stop is under the only tree in sight). From the bus stop in Torri to the ecovillage it is an easy 400 meter walk (partially uphill). The ticket (Euro 1,20) is sold on the bus.
By car: from Genoa: exit highway A10 at the Ventimiglia toll station, follow towards of “Colle di Tenda – Cuneo”, after the tunnel drive straight to the village of Bevera (driving beside the Metro supermarket). From Bevera follow the road signs to Torri (about 6 km).
From Torino: take National Road SS20 of the “Colle di Tenda”, after Porra (km. 146,6) turn right towards the Nice – Genoa highway, then right again and follow the signs to Bevera (see above).
By airplane: the nearest airports are Nice Côte d’Azur (at 50 kms.) and Genoa Leonardo da Vinci (150 kms). Continue on by train to the Ventimiglia train station, then take a taxi or the local bus.
